Eight

People transportation, not so common, most often used for commercial goods

Planting rice

The women carrying loads of concrete to the top here for a new water tower for this village

Interesting to note that many of the sadhus are actually highly educated

Sugar cane trucks, they move pretty fast so you learn to stay out of the way

A rare rest for a labourer

This man is most likely an old farm worker or labourer judging by his dress.

Many will have to go quite some distance for water

A food wagon at the beach in Podicherry, 110km from Tiru (3 to 3.5 hours drive)

Sugar cane trucks are a bit lethal, these tractors are more easily negotiable on the road

This sadhu is carrying a food container which would be the food given to him for the day

This delivery really takes the cake and you can see how proud they are I am taking a photo

Some of these faces have stories to tell don't they ?

How do you transport one two wheeler ?? Easy !

A little cave not so high up on Arunachala

Love the sign

Little cave which is really nice to sit in

Logo and Mirabai in front of a large Gandhi statue on the beach at Pondicherry

Priya from the farm

I love these little cubby-hole shops, check out the old clocks up top

Many old houses like this sit derelict, perhaps awaiting reconstruction of demolition

For many an old bike like this is a luxury, costs I think about NZ$75 by memory
